Here at Train-This….. we do things a little bit differently. We are certified and probably certifiable USAT Triathlon coaches who share your passion for sport, fitness and a healthy life. We celebrate the value of team,(as your induction to our team means you join Western NY’s biggest and most insane triathlon team).  We focus on what you want to accomplish and how that fits into your life, enhancing it without taking it over.

Beginner Triathlon Program:  

If you have ever thought about participating in a triathlon (or even if you haven’t up to now!), but weren’t sure how to train, or even what a triathlon involves – this program is for you!  You will gain:

  • General knowledge about what is involved in a triathlon.
  • A 12 week training program (with personalization as necessary).
  • 10 weekly group meetings to cover and practice all aspects of a triathlon – includes swim clinic, nutrition advice, as well as training on the actual triathlon course.
  • Unlimited email contact with your program coach between program meetings

You will gain the confidence and fitness to achieve your goal of completing the Pittsford Triathlon (300y pool swim/ 15 mile bike/ 3.3mile run).

The program will start Sunday March 14th and lead to the goal of completing the Pittsford Triathlon on June 6th 2010.

The program will be led by “Train-This!” coach Jackie Dowdeswell, a fully qualified USA Triathlon coach and local triathlete.  Jackie’s passion is to get people off the couch and into a healthier lifestyle.  She is not only a Triathlon coach but also a certified swim coach, certified cycling coach and personal trainer.

Yoga For Athletes

What yogi’s call being present, athletes call being in the zone. Learn a 25 minute power vinyasa yoga  routine that incorporates strength, flexibility and peace of mind. Also learn how to fuel your life and training from the area’s top sports dietician. For three consecutive Tuesdays in March we will guide you through everything you need to know about yoga and nutrition as it applies to you and to your sport! $45 for the entire 3 week session.

The Sports Kitchen

Join Registered Dietitian Lauri Boone for three classes right in the kitchen, as she teaches you how to not only prepare easy and healthy meals to fuel your active lifetsyle, but create your own energy bars, drinks and snacks as well!
